Fantastic location for break away with young children
 
We stayed in the Carlton Millrace Hotel during the February mid-term with 3 kids aged 3,6 & 8. The kids club was fantastic, the girls were great with our kids & they had a ball. And we got to enjoy dinner in peace! Will definitely go back over mid-terms again.

An absolute haven
 
Myself and a group of friends (4 couples) just returned from a weekend stay at Carlton Bunclody, I must say the staff were outstanding for their service, from reception to the spa to the restaurant to ... the bar they could not do enough for us, the food was delicious aswell as reasonable both from the restaurant and bar, the music in the bar provided great entertainment for us, we had a suite which was exceptional, the spa is sooo relaxing and the staff are so professional there. We will certainly be returning asap. ---

Valentines Relaxation
 
We had a really relaxing 3 nights stay in the wexford suite. We fab views over the town and hills of bunclody it was really nice to wake up to each morning. The food in the restaurant was really great ... quality and very tasty. We are from Dublin so it was really easy to get to and were there in 90 mins. We plan on going back with our children for a summer break in one of there family apartments. Would recommend to anyone they cater for all ages. ---

Great for families
 
We stayed from Thurs - Sun for 3 nights in February in the family apartments. The apartment is lovely and spacious - they put in an extra bed for our third child. The hotel is well located and very clean ... an modern, the only drawback is the parking is very tight. The bar food was very good - both carvery lunch and evening meals were exceptional. The main restaurant was very nice with a quality menu. Our package for two adults and three children cost us €399 for three nights in the apartment, kids club for the three days, a family carvery lunch and a dinner in the restaurant for two adults as well all breakfasts. I think this is excellent value and if your kids like the kids club then you will get a few hours of peace in the evening. The only drawbacks was the parking - there is a n overflow car park but the surface is a bit dodgy so drive carefully. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, food was excellent, apartment is all you need (unless you want to cook - no utensils, but we had no intention of cooking so it didn't bother us and we knew about it in advance.) ---

Exceptional Customer service
 
We really enjoyed our stay at the Millrace Hotel. We booked 2 nights B&B and 1 Din and 2 treatments each. We can not fault this hotel. From our booking right through to checking out i feel the staff are ... a great asset to this hotel, as their customer service skills are excellent. We had 2 minor problems, our hairdryer didn't work and we ran out of teabags and both were replaced by the guy on reception within minutes. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant and bar. We had booked a double room but were upgraded free of charge to a family apt which was spotless clean and we could here a thing from other apts. Apts lie beside the river which hads to a peacfull weekend. ---

New Years Stay
 
Myself and Family stayed in hotel for 2 nights over the new years break,we found the staff to be extremely helpful & pleasant,a rarity nowadays!The food was delicious,the facilities were excellent and if ... i had any complaint it was that the pool was little bit on cold side!! We go away every new years,approx 15-20 of us and we try to go somewhere different every year but I'm sure we will back to Bunclody! ---

Excellent Spot
 
I spent the New Year in the Carlton Millrace Hotel and it was a very relaxing.The restaurant was excellent and the bar was lovely. There is a lovely park across the road where we enjoyed a long walk,and the town has all you might need for a few days. The only gripe I would have is there is nothing around the immediate area for kids but the Hotel has a good Leisure Centre.

Fantastic Offer + fantastic Staff = fantastic time
 
My husband and I had decided it was time for a family retreat after all the hustle and bustle of Christmas 2009. The first thing we noticed on arrival was the welcoming we received from the lady on ... reception, she just could not have been anymore accommodating to our needs. The rooms here are of a contemporary design, which are clean, fresh and cosy. The Lady on reception did offer accommodation over in the apartments which are beside the hotel, but we decided we were happy to stay within the hotel. Our children who are 6 years and 2 years enjoyed some fun time in the swimming pool with Daddy, whilst I enjoyed some "Me" time at the CSpa. Our Children felt very relaxed here. My only disappointment was that we did not get to dine at the Rooftop restaurant as this is not open during the month of January, but did enjoy our meals in the Bistro which was really nice. Our overall experience here was really enjoyable to my husbands delight as he knows that I can be hard to please when it comes to certain standards in a hotel. I would certainly recommend this hotel. ---

Snowed In
 
Hotel was good and staff friendly. The shower in the room was a challenge..and the tv was a bit fuzzy. Food in restaurant was excellent. The bar could do with livening up a bit..colour scheme wise. A bit ... drab and not very enticing. My view out the bedroom was the back of the hotel..probably can't be helped, but a generator it appears was on til about 11 at night, making sleep before that a bit of a task if noise, although not very bad, is a problem for you. HOWEVER..i would go back, as the problems are really more of a nuisance than serious, and the staff were friendly and helpful. ---

Firstly let me thank you for your feedback, this is the main avenue we use to see how we can better our product here at Millrace. I am delighted you found both our staff and food to be of the highest standard and your kind comments will be passed on to those involved. With regards to our bar we are currently looking at updating its decor with our interior designers and hope to do so late spring. We now have all our extract pumps on a timer and the automatically switch of at 9 so this should help rectify your noise issue. Brilliant
 
I stayed a night for a party I was attending in the adjoining restaurant and the service and staff was excellent. The rooms were modern and spotless and the bed was very comfy! Perfect location for a mini break, would highly recommend. Late night bar service was great. Thank you for a lovely stay!
